Nei dipinti di Ilze Jaunberga ci sono gli occhi cauti e acuti di un anima implacabilmente gentile che ci osserva e dipinge come forse non vorremmo essere, infiammati accesi rossi di passioni travolgenti e brevissime, immobili e frenetici in città razionalmente geometriche popolate di presenze oniriche. Ilze ama i dolci, tantissimo, e ha imparato un italiano quasi perfetto da autodidatta: due cose di cui si schermisce, chissà perché. ("Il Ridotto" - Venezia)
Ilze Jaunberga's paintings contain the cautious, sharp eyes of an implacably gracious soul observing us and depicting us as we would perhaps prefer not to be depicted: red hot and burning with overwhelming yet brief passions, motionless or frenetic in rational, geometric cities peopled by dream-like beings. Ilze adores sweet things and she has taught herself Italian to a level of near perfection. She hides from these two aspects of herself – who knows why. ("Il Ridotto" - Venice)
